This was a commissioned painting I completed recently. When I saw the original photo, I just couldn't resist painting it. This painting contained
so much yellow; I used several for variation, straight out of the tube. I did add some color gradation in the field (the green areas) to create a feeling of distance/depth--I wanted the field to seem huge! It was also a pleasure to paint a larger canvas again. I've been painting so many small scale works that I forgot how wonderful it is to fill a large canvas with color! Click on the image above to see a slightly larger version of this painting.
