Willow Trees at Lilypons (2016), 8 x 16 in.

For some reason, the colors in painting were exceptionally difficult to capture accurately with my camera.  After a bit of Photoshop editing, this is pretty close.  I have to say I am pretty fond of this new painting.  I tried out a new technique which involves a bright reddish underlayer.  This underlayer shows through between the daubs of paint and gives it a luminous, glowing quality.  I am also very fond of these particular willow trees.  One of them was previously featured in my other painting of Lilypons.

Secolari Exhibit and Reception

This post is a little late, but several of my paintings and prints are on display at the Secolari store at the Towson Town Center in Towson, MD.  The exhibit went up in March featuring eight paintings and five framed archival prints which will continue on display through December 2016.  Here are some pictures from the display.

Secolari held an artist reception in June where I sold one original painting and one framed print!  I sold another framed print back in April as well.  I am very pleased with how the display turned out and look forward to meeting more art lovers at future receptions.  Secolari sells artisanal flavored olive oils and balsamic vinegars as well as spices, honey, and pasta. Secolari has three Maryland locations and one Washington, DC location, all which feature local artists as well as the oils, vinegars, and spices.  Check it out if you are ever in the area!
